CO2 off-set

Alpha Omega is developing projects – protecting, restoring and conserving existing old-growth forests with significant carbon mitigation benefits – In a way that we maximize both carbon storage and carbon uptake by protecting carbon-rich old-growth forests but allowing selective, well-managed harvesting to increase carbon uptake of young trees, to create local economic opportunities, and to protect biodiversity. In doing so we put in place mechanisms for creating credits to off-set carbon emissions.

Investment programs through ecological economic models

Implementing investment programs to address climate change and the associated problems of deforestation and forest degradation, engaging strategic and key companies to invest in ecological economic business models, to offset their carbon emissions with the purchase of Carbon – compensation – Credits.

Through the above, we plan to create sustainable investment capacity to smartly invest in priority projects, which will both bring down the CO2 Footprint of the partner country and rekindle the development of their economy, with emphasis on the rural areas to serve the communities that rely on these forests for their livelihoods.

Farming

Alpha Omega is committed to secure food production, food supply and food safety, through an integrated approach designed around an adaptive agro-value chain targeting the agricultural sector in emerging and developing countries.

It takes a comprehensive understanding of the agricultural sector in developing & emerging countries, international food trade, and how trade policies in food and agriculture can safeguard global food security.  It also takes a broad knowledge on how to address the trade-offs between economic and environmental objectives and at the same time strengthen the country’s resilience of its agri-food system against global conflicts, pandemics and extreme weather.

Our farming projects are designed to create a higher social and economic value, to open new venues towards strengthening local & rural communities and enhance international cooperation which will consequently benefit the country. Through the implementation of our Chain Farming Model (CFM), a central overarching Agro hub with connected regional hubs, modelled and structured to support out grower schemes and small-scale farmers at each regional or district level.

The CFM is conducting research and development activities and has a broad portfolio of activities and instruments to facilitate the local farming sector, centralized. Through its connected Regional hubs the required knowledge, instruments and research findings are made available to all farmers connected to our CFM in order to support innovative, eco-friendly farming practices, ensuring that the production activities are in compliance with international SPS standards. Connected farmers can thereby obtain Good Agricultural Practices (GAP) certification for export.  

The CFM program, will support the connected chain of local farmers to:

  • Enhance knowledge and intrinsic motivation to become commercially successful, while giving them sustainable access to means for increasing production quantity and quality, supplying inputs.
  • Coaching & training in terms of soil management, crop rotation, production and use of inoculants and fertilizers, production planning and use of high-quality seeds.
  • Implement post-harvest infrastructure and adding value to farm produce (processing, marketing & selling/exporting).
  • Producing under Global G.A.P. certification to target and penetrate high value markets worldwide.

The local fishing industry in West Africa is in need of a transition – from the current system to a sustainable self-sufficient and resource efficient fishing system – One that requires the support of a unique cluster of partner companies that spans across the complete Fishing value chain, to optimally facilitate the local fishing sector, increasing the availability and accessibility to equipment, technology, funding and the global market.

Operating as the SPV within an alliance of strategic construction partners, we bring together significant expertise in the field of sustainable construction, including the required investment, technical assistance as well as project management, leading the way in the African construction market, providing modular and sustainable solutions addressing the housing deficit and contributing to societal sustainability and development within our partner countries.

We lead the initiative to fund the construction of sustainable and affordable accommodations with the highest level of quality, safety and eco-friendly materials. This will enable us to create vibrant communities and help deal with the lack of school facilities and housing deficit, at fair and market competitive prices.

Minerals

In order to be responsive to social and environmental challenges, we design sustainable programs that will improve conditions for artisanal miners and facilitate the creation of jobs in rural areas

Alpha Omega’s assistance program

Alpha Omega’s assistance program for mineral resources (APMR) through its support centers across key mining areas, including financial schemes, is our vital effort to support artisanal miners to improve on the quality of their mining operations.

Through the additional centralized buying program, we ensure that artisanal miners are no longer subjected to the volatility of sales prices that occurs in the absence of credible off-takers. The artisanal miners will earn more from higher productivity, achieve better recovery rates through the mechanization of operations, and better access to reliable geological information. Our centralized buying program also ensures responsible sourcing/miming standards are implemented and adhered to.

Investment Fund

As part of our vision and development strategy, Alpha Omega wants to develop a Mineral Investment Fund (MIF) together with partner countries to serve as the financial foundation and financial vehicle, out of a strategic need to change the current socio-economic situation in the economies of our partner countries, helping these economies diversify, while ending their dependence on having buying up their raw materials without creating long-term value for them.

MIF will be designed as a stabilization and development fund. The fund capital is intended to facilitate the financing of development & priority projects and attract investment and know-how from abroad. MIF will also serve as a commodity fund and an important tool to prevent the depletion of natural resources and turn them into permanent income and stabilizing development budgets.

MIF will be an instrument that allows our partners to create alternative spending rules over varying commodities, natural resources and their pricing regimes, establishing a sustainable level of robustness in meeting their investment objectives. There will be other investment funds setup to cover different sectors and that require sustainable and substantial investments, food security, construction projects
